To the Editor:
I urge Troy residents to vote for Operation Recreation on May 2. The goal of the 0.25 percent income tax levy will be to invest in Duke Park upgrades, including nine baseball fields, upgrades to the Senior Center, Miami Shores driving range and clubhouse upgrades, and a second sheet of ice at Hobart Arena.
Recreation organizations for Troy residents of all ages and abilities will benefit from passing the levy. The upgrades will keep Troy as an attractive place to live and will increase the use of Duke Park, the Senior Center, Miami Shores and Hobart Arena.
We will attract more visitors to our fair city, but above all Troy residents and family members will have new and better facilities for recreation.
