Freedom Climb organizers thankful for support

To the Editor:

We would like to thank everyone for their help with this year’s Troy memorial Freedom Climb on Sept. 10.

Our main sponsors were: Abbey Credit Union, Storypoint, Anytime Fitness and Kettering Hospital. We would like to thank Kroger’s and Wal-mart for their kind donations.

We’d like to thank Congressman Warren Davidson, Mayor Michael Beamish and Commissioner Greg Simmons for coming out and speaking.

We’d like to thank the Troy Board of Education and Eric Herman for letting us use the stadium. Thank you to the Troy Noon Optimist for the flags. Thank you F.O.P Lodge 58 for the grill and Honor Guard. Thank you to the Haren’s Market for the great hot dogs. Thank you Sheriff Dave Duchak, Capt. Jeff Kunkeman and Officer Scott Gates for cooking on the grill. Thank you Kathy McIntosh and the Troy Marching Band for coming out after a long night before to perform. Thank you to Kelly and her crew at Staples for their great work with the dogtags of the fallen officers and firemen. Thank you Del Braund for his moving bagpipe performance. Thank you to the Can’t Stop Running group for the online registrations. Thank you to the officers from the Troy Police Department, Troy Fire Department and the Troy Tactical Response team. Thank you for all of the behind the scenes work from Troy Anytime Fitness and Troy Community Radio for their on-air broadcast and covering the event.

We were able to raise $2,503.65 which will be divided up between the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund, Troy Fire Department and the Troy Police Auxiliary.

Again, we want to thank everyone for coming out and participating and hope to see everyone again next year.

Never Forget,

Joe and Zachary Stutz
