Superintendent says thanks to community

To the Editor:

I wanted to express my appreciation for the actions of the parents, athletes, and staff last week at a junior high athletic event.

During an eighth grade basketball game, a moment of chaos broke out and the game became out of control. It could have been a very tragic event, but because of the actions of Troy Junior High Principal Dave Dilbone, his staff, the parents and friends in attendance, the eighth grade basketball team, and the Troy Police Department, the situation was resolved in an orderly fashion.

I would especially like to commend our athletes for not engaging in the chaos.

It was very unfortunate that anyone was exposed to the poor behavior. Again our Troy community (staff, parents, athletes, and Troy Police) responded and resolved the situation quickly.

Thanks again for the positive, pro-active response.
