Troy schools’ building plans are what’s needed

To the Editor:

This letter is to show my support for the upcoming building plan levy for Troy City Schools. As a proud alumnus of and current employee of Troy City Schools, I am so excited about this new plan and the positive impact it can have on our community.

The location of the new K-4 buildings is directly related to our student population — at the current Cookson area (northeast), near the current Concord (west) and in the southern area of town. The new fifth through sixth grade building will be located on the land where Hook is now.

I am hoping these new buildings will unite our community even more as Trojans! Many of us have such great memories of our elementary schools, however coming together from three schools, it should be even easier to unite at the new grades fifth and sixth building.

As a young professional who has lived in this community my entire life, I look forward to starting and raising my family here. I, like you, want what is best for Troy! From all I have read and heard, I truly believe this plan will be better for our students, our staff and our community! New safety features, handicapped accessible, and a climate-controlled environment are just a few of the improvements we truly need and from which we will benefit! If you have questions or want to read more about this plan, check out, attend one of the coffee chats or presentations or call Mr Piper (our superintendent) directly at 332-6000.
