RIVERSIDE — It’s either all or nothing for the Troy girls soccer team so far this year.
After beginning the season with a 5-0 win and a 6-0 loss — the defeat coming at the hands of the always-dangerous Centerville Elks — the Trojans (2-1, 2-0 Greater Western Ohio Conference American North Division) capped off a two-game road trip with a 7-0 hammering of Stebbins Wednesday night in GWOC American League crossover play.
Julianna Williams had a hat trick in the game to lead the offense, Kenzie Evans had a goal and three assists and Kiyha Adkins and Sydney Short each had a goal and an assist. Chandler Browning added a goal and Josalyn Abrams added an assist.
Troy returns home Saturday to take on Trotwood in GWOC American League crossover play, with the game a 1 p.m. start.
FAIRBORN — Tippecanoe senior goalkeeper Claire Hinkle is used to keeping other teams off the scoreboard.
Wednesday night, she did things a little different.
With the Red Devils already up 3-0 at Fairborn, Hinkle — who already owns the single-season and career school records for shutouts in goal — took a feed from Caley DeHass while playing in the field and scored a put-away goal as Tippecanoe (3-1, 2-0 Greater Western Ohio Conference American North Division) sealed a 4-0 victory over the Skyhawks.
Lauren Lester scored the game’s first two goals, one on an assist from Allie Wasson and the other from Makayla Stallard, then Wasson scored with an assist from Hannah Kramer before DeHass and Hinkle hooked up for the final goal.
Tippecanoe hosts Stebbins Saturday.
Other scores: Xenia 3, Piqua (3-2, 2-1) 0.
