Troy, Tipp girls win: Wednesday sports roundup

WEST CARROLLTON — The Troy girls soccer team made it three straight wins.

And also kept it a three-way tie atop the Greater Western Ohio Conference American North Division.

The Trojans (4-1, 4-0 GWOC American North) routed West Carrollton Wednesday night on the road in GWOC American League crossover play, winning 8-0 to keep any blemishes off of its division record and keep pace with Tippecanoe and Sidney.

Two Troy players, Kenzie Evans and Kiyha Adkins, had hat tricks in the game. Evans — who had four goals in Saturday’s win over Trotwood — added three goals and an assist to her season totals, while Adkins scored three goals. Megan Malott had a goal and an assist, Caitlin Palivec had a goal and Oliva Westfall, Julianna Williams and Lily Magoteaux each had an assist.

Troy faces a big non-league test Monday, hosting 5-0-1 Springboro.

Trotwood 0

TROTWOOD — Lauren Lester scored a pair of goals Wednesday night on the road, leading Tippecanoe to a 6-0 victory at Trotwood.

Tippecanoe (5-1, 4-0 Greater Western Ohio Conference American North Division), the defending division champion, also got goals from Caley DeHass, Hannah Rittenhouse, Mackenzie Weaver and Makayla Stallard, with Rittenhouse, Lauren Weimer and Payton Willis each adding an assist.

The Red Devils host Wayne Monday.

PIQUA — The Miami East girls golf team dropped a pair of non-league matches Wednesday at Echo Hills, shooting a 201 to Butler’s 194 and Piqua’s 199.

Marissa Kearns and Paige Lawson both shot 47 to lead the Vikings (6-3), Emily Rowley shot 51, Kearsten Kirby shot 56 and Maci Krites shot 72.

TIPP CITY — The Tippecanoe tennis team was defeated in non-league play Wednesday night at home, falling to Preble Shawnee 3-2.

The Red Devils (6-4) swept the doubles spots. At first doubles, Jordan Jones and Claire Wint won 6-0, 7-5. At second doubles, Tasha Bruner and Annie Livesay won 7-5, 6-0.

At first singles, Amelia Zeizig lost 6-3, 6-1. At second doubles, Dakota Schroeder lost 6-3, 6-4. At third singles, Sophia McDowell lost 7-5, 6-1.

Lehman 0

SIDNEY — Lehman fell to 1-8 on the season Wednesday with a 5-0 loss to visiting Greenville (9-1).

At first singles, Claire Larger lost 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-5). At second singles, Sarah Gibson lost 6-0, 6-1. At third singles, Melanie Brunner lost 6-2, 6-1.

At first doubles, Alex Read and Angela Brunner lost 6-0, 6-0. At second doubles, Grace Brandt and Kiera Burns lost 6-1, 6-3.
