TROY — The Troy Christian boys soccer team avenged one of its few losses from last season over the weekend, blowing out Franklin Monroe 9-0 Saturday in a game that was delayed by storms.

Once the lightning delay was over, the Eagles (4-0) tallied four goals in the game’s first seven minutes as Jalen Hudgins and Grant Conklin each scored twice, with Hudgins later adding an assist. Connor Peters and Tristan Miller each had a goal and an assist in the match, Tripp Schulte had a goal and two assists, Preston and Nelson Laire each had a goal and Ty Davis and Nathan Kephart each had two assists.

Bethel 2,

Tree of Life 2

BRANDT — The Bethel Bees (3-1-1) slipped up twice on defense Saturday night against Tree of Life and battled to a 2-2 draw at home.

“It was an up-anddown match, high-paced action end to end,” Bethel coach Bob Hamlin said. “Unfortunately, we gave up two goals we should never have given up. We do not step to a loose ball and leave a man wide open on the back side on a corner. Those are mistakes we just have to correct and take ownership for.”

Nick Schmidt scored the Bees’ first goal on the night with assist from Evan Hart, then with nine minutes to play, Schmidt dished to Aiden Flomerfelt for the game-tying score.

Other scores: Indian Hill 1, Tippecanoe (3-1) 0. Lehman 2, Allen East 2.
