XENIA — Troy Christian’s Robert Ventura and Nick Pratt grabbed the top two individual spots at the Legacy Christian Cross Country Invitational Saturday in Xenia, leading the Eagle boys to a second-place finish.
Troy Christian was second out of 23 teams with 105 points, trailing only Miami Trace’s 79.
Ventura won the race in 18:17.4, with Pratt right behind in second in 18:25.4. Alexander Benevento was 19th (20:01.3), Nate Hunnicutt was 24th (20:20.3) and Aiden Tkach was 64th (21:53.7).
On the girls side, Sophie Pitsenbarger was 84th (31:31.1), Katie Townsend was 137th (37:17.1) and Cheyanna Cullen was 152nd (42:33.3).
ANNA — The Covington girls were fourth and Bethel’s boys were ninth, leading the local finishers at the Anna Invitational Saturday.
Covington’s girls were fourth out of 16 teams with 175 points. Paige Boehringer was 16th (22:03.5), Ashlyn Plessinger was 17th (22:09.5), Chelsea Ford was 19th (22:15.7), Alexis Meyer was 59th (24:00.8) and Allie Garman was 90th (25:12).
Bethel’s girls were 13th with 324 points. Kaitlyn Balkcom led the Bees in 38th (23:02.8), Kylie Balkcom was 46th (23:23.3), Maddie Spaeth was 65th (24:25.5), Emma Daugherty was 137th (28:01.2) and Josie Rhoades was 143rd (28:46.1).
Bethel’s boys were ninth out of 18 teams with 268 points. Cole Brannan led the Bees in 24th (17:48.1), Kaleb Roberts was 57th (18:35.9), Trent Schweikhardt was 72nd (19:09.3), Colton Smith was 83rd (19:22.8) and Nathaniel Patton was 107th (19:41.2).
Covington was 14th with 344 points. Bennett Welborn led the Buccaneers in 32nd (17:58.9), Owen Boehringer was 89th (19:25.8), Ian Benedict was 96th (19:30.3), Fletcher Metz was 109th (19:45.4) and Owen Rawson was 146th (20:45.1).
COLDWATER — The Bradford girls finished fourth at the Coldwater Invitational Saturday, scoring 134 points.
Individually, Karmen Knepp was fourth (20:48.3), Skipp Miller was seventh (21:08.9), Austy Miller was 11th (21:32.8), Olivia Daugherty was 32nd (22:39.5) and Mercedes Smith was 94th (25:09.4).
On the boys side, Jackson Moore was 63rd (19:44.1) to lead a trio of Railroaders.

NEW CARLISLE — The Troy boys soccer team bounced back from its first loss since the season opener this week, defeating Tecumseh 3-1 on the road in non-league play.
Elijah Williams led the Trojans with a pair of goals, Reece Sherman scored a goal and Connor Hubbell, Tyler Owens and Anthony Gonzalez each had an assist.
Troy (12-2) hosts Piqua on Senior Night Tuesday in its final home game of the regular season.

CASSTOWN — The Miami East volleyball team started off strong against CHCA Saturday, but the Vikings dropped the final three games to fall 21-25, 25-23, 25-19, 25-21.
Sophie Jacomet had 13 kills,three aces and 22 digs, Ashlyn Monnin had nine kills and two aces, Nichole Hood had eight kills, one assist and 20 digs, Lydia Conley had six kills and three blocks, Delaney Bourelle had four kills and an ace, Gretchen Frock had 18 assists, Macie Schaffner had 12 assists and an ace, Gabrielle Hawkins had 28 digs and three assists and Lauren Fisher had two assists.
Miami East (13-7) travels to Lehman Monday.
