TROY — The undefeated Troy girls bowling team won its eighth straight Thursday afternoon, holding off visiting Northmont 2,240-2,003 at Troy Bowl in Greater Western Ohio Conference action. And while Aaron Stone led all bowlers on the day, the Trojans boys still fell to the Thunderbolts 2,499-2,259.

GWOC individual champion Rachel Darrow led the girls (8-0), rolling 212-211—423. Jenna Stone added 162-218—380, A’leigha Smith rolled 203-169—372, Kirsten McMullen rolled 172-183—355, Alyssa Shilt added a 155 game and Jennica Funderburg added a 152.

Aaron Stone nearly cracked the 500 series mark for the boys, rolling 247-241—488 to lead the way for the Troy boys (2-6). A.J. Kendall rolled 190-178—368, Hayden Jackson rolled 129-202—331, Landon Flory rolled 176-146—322 and Jason Shiltz rolled 156-143—299.

Troy travels to Greenville Tuesday for a GWOC North matchup.

Carlisle 41

CARLISLE — Milton-Union’s Taylor Jacobs had a career night Thursday, leading the Bulldog girls basketball team to a 50-41 victory over Carlisle on the road in Southwestern Buckeye League Buckeye Division play.

Jacobs finished with a game-high 23 points and added seven rebounds, four steals and three blocked shots as the Bulldogs (7-3, 3-1 SWBL Buckeye) took a 23-16 lead by halftime and put it away in the third, outscoring the Indians (5-3, 2-2 SWBL Buckeye) 20-13.

Liz Renner added seven points and five rebounds, Kristen Dickison had six points and three assists, Jordan Pricer had six points and two steals and Bri Stone had four points.

Milton-Union hosts Dixie Saturday.

Miami East 75,

Miss. Valley 29

UNION CITY — Miami East had four players in double figures Thursday night as the Vikings (5-3, 4-1 Cross County Conference) built momentum heading into its Barnball Classic tournament this weekend with a 75-29 victory at Mississinawa Valley.

Haley Howard led the way with a double-double, 22 points and 11 rebounds. Morgan Haney was one assist away from a double-double of her own with 15 points and nine assists, Megan Kinnison scored 12 points, Bailey Miller added 11 and Kyndall Hellyer chipped in eight.

The Vikings took a 19-6 lead after the first quarter and built a 23-point lead by halftime. A 17-4 performance in the third quarter sealed the win.

Miami East hosts the Barnball Classic on Saturday and Sunday, playing Urbana at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the first round.

Bradford 41,

TC North 39

BRADFORD — Bradford held off a scrappy Tri-County North team 41-39 Thursday night at home, improving to 3-6 on the season and 2-4 in the Cross County Conference.

Mandi Bates led the Railroaders with 16 points and Kelly Moore added 12. Olivia Hart had five points and Bianca Keener had four points and seven rebounds.

Bradford travels to Twin Valley South Monday.

Tri-Village 66,

Bethel 25

BRANDT — The Bethel Bees dropped their first Cross County Conference game of the year Thursday, falling to league-leading Tri-Village 66-25 at home.

Bethel (4-3, 3-1 CCC) struggled to get going on offense, falling behind 31-11 at halftime before the Patriots (8-1, 5-0 CCC) wrapped up the game with a 23-2 third quarter.

Alaina Hawthorn led the Bees with eight points and Kayla Grable scored six.

Bethel travels to Yellow Springs Saturday.

Other scores: Northmont 77, Piqua 24.
