SIDNEY — Three Trojan girls broke the 400 mark Thursday afternoon as the undefeated Troy girls bowling team cruised to another victory, this one on the road over the Sidney Yellow Jackets 2,298-1,861.
The Troy boys, meanwhile, fell to the rival Jackets 2,571-2,136.
A’leigha Smith led the girls (11-0, 3-0 Greater Western Ohio Conference North Division) with 212-223—435, Jenna Stone rolled 244-181—425 and Kirsten McMullen rolled 192-219—411. Rachel Darrow added 162-192—354 and Alyssa Shilt rolled 134-170—304.
Jason Shiltz led the Trojan boys (3-8, 1-2 GWOC North) with 221-179—400, Hayden Jackson rolled 224-165—389, Landon Flory rolled 160-169—329, A.J. Kendall rolled 165-150—315, Aaron Stone rolled a 182 and Logan Jones a 173.
Troy will compete in the Pioneer Classic in Lima on Monday.
SPRINGFIELD — Tippecanoe’s boys and girls bowling teams fell to Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail Division foe Springfield Shawnee on the road Thursday afternoon as the boys lost 2,772-2,608 and the girls lost 1,964-1,891.
Nick Lanham led the boys (4-11, 3-10 CBC Kenton Trail) by rolling 227-201—428. Wyatt Wilson added 205-206—411 and Tyler Gleadell rolled a 200 game.
Mary Kate Lee, who set a new career best game and series earlier in the week, led the Red Devil girls (2-13, 1-11) with 173-151—324. Jessica Goodson added a 146 game and Kenzie Maxton had a 135.
Tippecanoe will next compete at the Baker Bash Monday at Beaver-vu.

TROY — The Troy Christian girls basketball team shut down Springfield Catholic Central Thursday night, routing the Fighting Irish 49-16 to improve to 9-3 on the season.
Troy Christian faces Piqua Saturday.
Newton 78, TVS 34
PLEASANT HILL — Newton’s Maddie Mollette had a huge night Thursday, pouring in 30 points to lead the Indians to a 78-34 Cross County Conference victory over Twin Valley South.
Kaylee Kesler and Aliya Stine each had nine points and Elizabeth Carroll and Anna Wolfe each had five points as Newton (10-4, 6-2 CCC) outscored the Panthers (3-13, 1-7 CCC) 25-6 in the first quarter and cruised from there.
Newton faces Fairlawn Saturday.
WEST MILTON — Milton-Union never got going offensively Thursday night, falling to Southwestern Buckeye League Buckeye Division rival Madison 42-23 at home.
Beyonce Bobbitt led the Bulldogs (12-5, 6-2 SWBL Buckeye) with eight points and five steals, Liz Renner added six points and three blocked shots and Taylor Jacobs had eight rebounds.
Milton-Union has now lost two of its last three after a seven-game winning streak and was swept in the season series by the Mohawks (8-6, 6-1 SWBL Buckeye). The Bulldogs face Carlisle on Jan. 23.
Bradford 51, FM 40
PITSBURG — Bradford (5-9, 4-5 Cross County Conference) put together a big first half Thursday night, rolling past Franklin Monroe (2-13, 2-7 CCC) 51-40.
Mandi Bates led the way with a game-high 23 points and Kenzie Weldy added 15 as the Railroaders built a 31-16 lead by halftime and held on from there.
Bradford travels to Houston Saturday.
