Brett Eldredge may be the headliner for Hobart Arena’s Oct. 9 concert, but some of the biggest cheers may be reserved for the opening act.
Covington High School graduate Clark Manson has been signed to open for Eldredge for the 8 p.m. show at the historic arena on Adams Street.
“We are really excited to have a local talent added to the lineup with Brett Eldredge,” said Hobart Arena Director Ken Siler. “It’s nice that fans will have the opportunity to see a local artist on the state at Hobart Arena on a national artist’s ticket (and) it really provides an added value for our ticket buyers.”
With an EP and one full album under his belt, Manson’s career has picked up steam during the past year and a half. He’s helped open for country stars ranging from Dustin Lynch, Cole Swindell and Scotty McCreery to Dwight Yoakam, Gary Allan and Sammy Kershaw. And he’s two-thirds of the way to hitting his concert trifecta of local venues – Country Concert in Fort Loramie, the Miami County Fair and Hobart Arena.
“There are three venues that I’ve always wanted to play,” Manson said last summer during an interview with the Troy Daily News. “It’s kind of like some people dream of playing at the Grand Ole Opry – (I want to play) the Miami County Fair, Country Concert and Hobart Arena.”
Manson took the stage at last year’s Miami County Fair with Sam Hunt and Chase Rice, and has played each of the past two Country Concerts. This fall’s gig with Eldredge will complete the concert bucket list.
Tickets for the Oct. 9 show are $28 and $40 and are on sale at www.hobartarena.com, or by calling (937) 339-2911.
